About Mo Joy Keene
Hi, my name is Mo Joy Keene! My middle name, Joy, was inspired by the overwhelming happiness my mother felt when I was born, and because she said I was full of joy from the very beginning. From an early age, I discovered my love for people and social connections. I became fascinated by the diverse personalities of those around me—family, friends, and strangers alike—fueling my curiosity about the mind and the power of thought. This led me to pursue a degree in Humanistic Psychology at Northwestern University. Despite this academic focus, I embarked on a 30-year career in commercial real estate as an office leasing broker, where my understanding of human behavior enriched my interactions with clients. Yet, my passion for exploring the factors that contribute to a joyful, fulfilling life has remained a constant throughout my journey.
Driven by a deep desire to align my life's purpose with my spiritual journey, I took a bold step away from corporate real estate. I was driven by a burning question: why do some people thrive in vitality and good health, while others face premature health challenges? This led me to pursue a Master's Degree in Aging and Lifespan Development from Arizona State University, with a certification in Geriatrics. My goal was to uncover the secrets to longevity from a holistic perspective.
As my educational journey unfolded, a new calling emerged—a calling rooted in my lifelong passion for serving others, personal growth, and unwavering dedication to health and wellness. This marked the beginning of my journey into health and joy coaching, fueled by a strong desire to empower individuals to embrace a similar quality of life that I had discovered through joyful self-care, qigong, and laughter yoga. It is an honor for me to share my knowledge and experiences to guide you along the transformative path of joyful well-being!
“I began practicing QiGong with Mo and was hooked from the start. I did a few sessions with other QiGong instructors but they didn’t have the same zest, energy or passion I felt immediately from her. She is sincere in her love for the art and has practiced for many years. With her professionalism and focused attention, she’ll guide you to learn, while experiencing joy in the process. I would, and do, recommend her to anyone I know with the confidence she’ll offer incredible teaching.”

Qigong harmonizes the mind, body and spirit. It helps to:
strengthen the immune system,
increase energy levels, and
foster a sense of inner peace.
Using rhythmic, flowing movements, you can feel the smooth flow of qi, or life energy force, moving throughout the body. Feel the great joy of improved physical health and emotional balance through Qigong.
***
The core philosophy of Laughter Qigong is that rather than seek happiness from external sources, we cultivate it from within, creating joy. Joy can be activated by the simplest of physical activities, such as singing, dancing, playing and laughing. 10 to 15 minutes of Laughter Qigong exercises can:
reduce stress,
strengthen your immune system, and
keep your mind positive during challenging times.
Combining laughter exercises with breathing techniques (Pranayama), Laughter Qigong brings more oxygen to our body and brain, making us feel more energetic and healthy.
