FAQs about KeeneOnJoy Classes
Where does Qigong come from?
Qigong was developed in ancient China 4-5,000 years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) which states that qi, or energy, is present in everyone’s body. It uses exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind and spirit. The primary goal of Qigong is to maintain health and well-being.
What are the benefits of Qigong?
The health benefits of Qigong, as listed by Integrative Medicine Specialist, Yufang Lin, MD, of Cleveland Clinic are:
Reduces depression and relieves stress
Lessens chronic fatigue
Boosts the immune system
Improves well being for people with cancer
As you practice Qigong, you cultivate mindfulness and a deeper connection with yourself. This can lead to greater self-awareness and appreciation for the present moment. This holistic practice uplifts your spirit, allowing joy to naturally emerge in your life.

What exactly is Laughter Qigong?
Laughter Qigong is a ton of fun! Did you know the body cannot differentiate between intentional and real laughter? The benefits are the same! Adapted from a simple exercise program developed by Dr. Madan Katarina from India, Laughter Qigong combines laughter exercises with breathing techniques to bring more oxygen to the body and brain. This makes us feel more energetic and healthy. Just 10-15 minutes of Laughter Qigong exercises can reduce stress, strengthen your immune system and keep your mind positive during challenging times. And who doesn’t love a good laugh?!
